I got tickets in advance. With Kiefer Sutherland, Paula Patton, Cameron Boyce I thought it seemed to be a decent cast. Here is my words of warning…don’t waste your time nor money on this flick. Wait for it to come out on HBO.
In fact it was so bad that the packed theatre decided to talk conversationally throughout the entire film. Not just chatty..like full on have conversation with bar room voices. The scary scenes were so corny the theatre burst into laughter.
Now to be fair…it does have entertainment factor but it is definitely not scary! It was entertaining in a blow ass sort of way.
I am writing this while annoyed…so sorry for those reading this senseless blathering!
It has hit me hard to realize that most families no matter how close they were when you were young; seem to drift apart. It is amazing how dysfunctional people become or how aware you become of their dysfunction as you get older.
I always compared “MY Big FAT GREEK WEDDING”
to my close knit Italian loud family.
However, as adults we all live in different places. We still manage to visit but no one seems to be able to communicate via phone or email all year. Ridiculous.
Between that and everyones quirks, mid life crisis, guilt trips etc….I have really gotten down. I am upset that the image of my perfect family has been clouded by their dysfunction.
Brandon showing me an elephant from his show and me trying to get a kiss.
You can indulge your toddlers desire by stuffing him into the cat crate!
So, it is 8:45am and Brandon and I have been up for about 2 hrs. He lay sprawled out watching sesame street and I sit here watching the storm outside. My poor cat Rocky still is having respitory issues and is sneezing.;-(
I love rainy days. Especially when you can open the windows crawl under the covers and take a snooze. However, with a 2.5 yr old that is an impossibility. How do you all spend nice rainy days with your kids?
I use the time to clean and let Brandon be a couch potato. Of course that only lasts about an hour.
By 130 we have taken baths, made beef stew for me ( i am a south beacher), Adam made this awesome looking BLT
Blt with cheetos
, zoned on tv….and other lazy day stuff. What to do with the rest of the day….I dunno.
It must be part of the requirements for all politicians to have thin lips. It has been said by many that thin lips is a trait on deceptive individuals..
Have you all heard of the new scandal in the political arena??? Nc’s very own Joh Edwards has been busted with his mistress,Rielle Hunter and his new love baby!!! I was already down on him for campaigning so intensely after news of his wifes cancer!
Cheating has been around since the dark ages…that is not surprising. What is surprising is that this affair comes after 31 years of marriage, when his wife is battling cancer, and after they tragically lost their 17 year old son, Wade, in a car accident. I mean c’mon John have a little decency. Then the topping on the cake…he cant even take the 30 seconds to “ziploc his leftovers” and prevent bringing a “bastard” child into the world. What a JOKE!!
A baseball leaugue of 7-8 year olds played a tournament. The first place winners won a wonderful trophy with the glorified 1st place engraved on the front. The second place team also won trophies!!!!
Now, I am all about a pat on the back for playing your best but c’mon…what kind of message are we sending. Our country has become obsessed with being pc and with raising a bunch of softies.
There are winners and “losers” in everything. Kids need to learn that valuable lesson too. Its ok to not win!!! Winners should get the prize or what is the point if everyone wins
I mean kids cant even ride their tricycle without helmets, schools cant decorate for the holidays, short people are “vertically challenged”??, students don’t know which race bubble to fill in because the terms continue to evolve, kids are being promoted year after year to avoid hurting feelings and that was all in one breath.
Ahhh, please let me hear your thoughts. I love a good discussion.
So…after years of trying new product, new sales new technology I have a best of the best list. These are things we couldnt live without!!!
For BABIES
Mylicon :Every parent must have mylicon!!Or, just deal with GASSY, crying screaming alien child who will never sleep. That is the only good piece of advice I have regarding infants. Honestly, I am all ears for other successful baby tips. It was such a difficult time for us. Lots of trial and error. I will use your best tips on the next baby( if we have one)
Toddlers-
The best toy ever!!We have spent tons of money as have our friends and families on blinky, bright loud toys. They all are cool until they get lost in the pile of crap in the closet!!! However, this one is a winner. It has remained a focal point for our busy on the go non stop toddler!!!He has had it since he was 10 months old and he still rides it daily!!!Must have for all kids.
Favorite Sites: Etsy.com
I love Etsy: I buy loads of items there. It is a site like Ebay but only for handmade items.
Intervention: Documentary style show on A&E about drug addicts. It is very graphic and very intense watch. We never miss a show!
Gene Simmons Family Jewels: Although Shannon Tweed has really shown her ” not so nice streak” I find that they are a cute couple who are very family focused.
The Two Coreys: Very interesting show with two quite different Coreys: One insecure and sad and the other happy and full of a deep dark past
Paranormal State: The show is a bit corny at times but I love the the fact that they it is unscripted and quite interesting to hear peoples experiences. OOOOOH
Photos:
I love walgreens for the photo center. I love being able to sit at home, edit my pics, order pics online and pick them up in the store. Ingenious!!
I am a sucker when it comes to pets. 7 years ago, my husband ( boyfriend at the time) wanted to suprise me with a dog. He took me to Petsmart’s adoptathon to see the puppy he picked for me. Unfortunately, he had chosen the puppy not moving.LOL. All the pups were so rambunctious and playful and there lied “Onyx” a black pup doing nodda!!!Well, I beleive in signs and would never have chosen a different puupy. I kept telling Adam that this puppy wasnt quite right. Adam disagreed however…he was just a rfeal chill pup.LOl
The next morning poor Onyx was close to death and foaming from the mouth. I was devastated and rushed him to the vet where he collapsed. After many tests they determined Onyx had parvo a very dangerous epidemic for dogs. Being a poor college student at the time did not deter me from wanting to give our 1 day owned puppy the best care!! The vet said we should put him to sleep because he was not going to survive. I was so annoyed. No way could I do that. He was mine and my responsibility. Long story short…2 weeks later after hospitalization and almost 5k later..our puppy was a miracle!! In addition, the rescue organization that had held the adoptathon paid for our bills and went out of business shortly there after for improper care of their animals and not giving immunizations at the correct time!!
We tease that “special needs” pets always find their way to us bc they sense that we are “suckers” and will take care of them!!
FELIX
We also, adopted our maincoon cat Felix 7 years ago; when Onyx was about a year old. He was an adult cat raised by a very nice women. We saw ads in our apartment complex about a cat free to a good home. Adam kept telling me he wanted to take a look at the cat. We walked to the ladies apartment which was one building over from ours. We fell in love. Felix was so friendly. A slut really. The ladies fiancee was deathly allergic and she chose to give Felix to a loving home and keep her fiancee. So, we adopted Felix at age 7 and he was a love bug. He ended up with diabetes and took two insulin shots a day for years. He loved it. Hed scoot his tush right into the needle.LOL He recently passed away at the ripe old age of 15. He was so lucky. He had two families in his life!! 2 shots a day..unreal. So, we could never go for the weekend and leave him. We had to get someone to administer the two shots a day.LOL
DAKOTA:
A beautiful and not the brightest australian sheperd dog. We adopted her for our dog Onyx who seemed a bit lonely after the birth of our son. She has been relatively easy. She is a sweetheart! She had a minor surgery to remove a mole on her face they thought was lupus. Thank goodness it wasn’t.
ROCKY
Now, our latest addition “Rocky” was adopted by Hobbes house. He is a short haired cat about 2 years old. We were finally ready for another cat after Felix passed away. He is also wonderful. We are not cat people but we have gotten so lucky to have had two cats that are the BEST!! I had noticed he kept choking on hairballs. More often then I would have thought to be normal. Well, he has asthma. A cat with asthma!! So, I switched his litter to Feline Pine( the first step). If that doesnt work( dread) then we might have to go the prednisone route. Can you imagine. A 300 pound cat with an inhaler.LOL. So, lets hope the litter change works and that it is all allergy based.
I warned you all that amongst my other quirks…I am very random. Here is tonight’s topic….second pregnancies.I absolutely loved pregnancy. Couldnt wait until my belly button popped out, felt great and loved every second. I had a long labor with lots of intervention…I was shocked everyone focused so much on labor and not the aftermath.
my pregnancy
I was sore for weeks afterwards, heavy, frumpy, tired and a nervous first time mommy. I started pregnancy at 5 foot 3 at 145 pounds( looked perfect on me). I weighed 212 at delivery!!!2.5 years later I have finally reached my fighting weight of 140. It took forever to lose the weight even with diet and excercise.
Back to pre baby weight but my belly is a bit raisinesque.LOL
All my friends are on their 2nd and 3rd babies…and I am still coping with my post partum figure. I have stretch marks and a wrinkled belly. I love my toddler and wouldnt trade any of it. I am however a nervous wreck about even considering another babe. I fear that the second pregnancy will only be more difficult on my body. It may sound vain but at 26 I fear I will be wrecked for life.
I have found inspiration from this site featuring post partum bodies. It is a beautiful site and really amazing to look at.http://theshapeofamother.com/. Hopefully it will give me enough confidence to overcome my own body image issues.
Welcome to a totally random discussion about any topic under the sun
Things I have always wondered.
Since people like different foods and colors…does that mean they taste and see them differently.
If everyone saw things like me then black would be there favorite color and lima beans would be delicious
Are serial killers, the criminally insane, pedaphiles etc genuinely bad or can they not help it? I mean…if you cant fault people with tourettes for shouting out or cant have a schizophrenic live without meds do you think perhaps that some people have an uncontrollable urge to commit certain crimes?
If other people laugh at themselves, have internal dialogue and dance from the waist down in the car. I always dance in the car so no one else can see.~LOL
If there is a scientific reason why some of the brightest people all more socially inept.
